This course is ideal as a refresher for childminders who have completed Child Protection training in the past and are looking to enhance and refresh their learning. The purpose of this course is to consolidate and build upon your child protection knowledge. The content includes how to use chronologies, the GIRFEC National Practice Model and explores a case study. The course also covers guidance on what to include in your Child Protection Policy, what to do if you need to call your local child protection team, and up to date information for the National Guidance on Child Protection 2021 (updated in 2023).

• Handling Disclosure - Policy and Procedure

This course will help you to:

5. Understand tools within the GIRFEC framework and how to use them within your setting
