Understand the eight wellbeing indicators and the four capacities surrounding the GIRFEC approach.

This course aims to raise your awareness of the Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach and its connection to United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in Scotland. It will help you to understand the National Practice model and raise your awareness of the Named Person and The Lead professional.

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the child-centred approach called ‘Getting it right for every child’ (GIRFEC). We will identify your role as a childminder in GIRFEC and how you can best fulfil it. When you have completed the course, we hope to have given you sufficient knowledge to enable you to take a child-centred approach to your daily practice as a childminder.
