The aim of this course is to increase your confidence with what legislation, standards, frameworks, guidance and codes of practice are, and the importance of them. This course aims to help you learn how these affect your childminding business, how to link these to your practice and what roles and responsibilities are involved in these. The course covers 12 key pieces of legislation, 2 standards, 6 frameworks and 16 pieces of guidance and codes of practice. 

This course is fully funded by Scottish Government, with CPL made available to all childminders as part of the important childminder retention strand of the PSCF.

  • The vulnerability of the childminder as a lone worker.
  • Roles and responsibilities of the childminder and of key professionals.
  • The development of a child protection statement.
  • Reporting procedures.
